Welcome to Rural Health Team Uganda (RHT)
The Rural Health Team Uganda (RHT) is a dedicated group of young medical and non-medical professionals founded in 2017 with a shared goal: to improve rural healthcare systems and enhance the health standards in underserved communities across Tororo District and beyond. We believe in bringing quality healthcare to even the most remote areas, ensuring that rural populations receive reliable and affordable health services.

Our Objectives
- Youth Engagement: We link young medical professionals to rural communities, enabling them to deliver essential healthcare services while mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers.
- Capacity Building: We continuously develop the skills of medical workers and community health service providers through our telemedicine hub, ensuring improved service delivery.
- STEM Mentorship: We inspire and mentor students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to embrace careers in the medical field, with the aim of fostering a new generation of healthcare professionals dedicated to rural health.
- Community Health Linkages: We build strong networks at the district level, fostering collaboration to access medical resources, services, and information for rural communities
Governance
Our governance board consists of medical professionals, community leaders, and advocates who provide strategic oversight for the Rural Health Team’s programs. This ensures that our projects align with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization standards while remaining responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
